Recently, a few friends from Japan came to visit Las Vegas and we had the opportunity to hang out. I rarely visit the Strip, but these days I feel like I’m going down there all of the time. At the end of December/beginning of January, my boyfriend came from Canada to visit and we spent a lot of time on the Strip. People just love all of those lights. ✨
I have to admit that I’m not sure what it is about Las Vegas that everyone loves, but sometimes I get it when I see pictures like above — at night, Vegas is beautiful. It’s all lit up and bright! It reminds me of a smaller scale New York City (with less outrageous rent). Unfortunately, it’s not all that great once you’re on the ground. 🤨
My three friends that came were really friendly, and we had a lot of fun. Even though it was the first time we were meeting, it felt like we’d been friends for a long time! All three of them are living in Maryland as au pairs and it was interesting to hear about their experiences. Their English is great, but they preferred Japanese. Considering I don’t have many opportunities to speak Japanese anymore, I was more than happy about this!
One of my favorite places that we went was the Bellagio Conservatory, which changes every so often. It’s really popular and free to enter, so it’s pretty packed no matter the day or time of day. When I went in December it was set up for Christmas, but they’ve since changed it to Chinese New Year!
I love the way everything is set up inside, and I really love that the flowers and trees are real. It’s so authentic, and there are so many gems throughout the Conservatory to pick out (things move, there are small additions here and there, and so on). If you’re in Vegas, I highly recommend stopping by!
I just really love that all of the flowers are placed just right. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of them! They’re well taken care of and look beautiful, even though these exhibits are usually up for 1-2 months.
I really loved this exhibit, and I’ll probably go back regularly. This Chinese New Year will last until March 9, so I’ll probably go back after that so I can see the Spring exhibit! 🌺
We also ate delicious crêpes at the Paris Hotel! 🇫🇷 They were a little expensive at $10 each crêpe, but yummy. I’ll definitely go back to this little place! Despite being a local, it was my friend that introduced me to this shop, ha.
We also went to Caesars Palace and watched the show in the Forum Shops, and after that we wandered around a bit more and ended up going to the Fashion Show Mall to eat Grimaldi’s Pizza before we had to part ways. It was a great day! We also ate ramen for lunch, and I’m always happy to eat ramen. 🍜0
